Our names are John and Tracy Hite. We live in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. We have two children - Caroline and Pierce. We have two horses and average around five dogs in our home. Our dogs pretty much rule our home. We do not have kennels, because all of our dogs are house dogs. Our goal in breeding Whippets is to produce dogs with sound minds and bodies. This is very important to us as we feel the "show career" of our dogs is very short in comparison to their time as pets. We are very proud to have bred/co-bred over 70 AKC Champions as of the end of 2010. These dogs include Multiple All-Breed Best In Show, Best In Field and Specialty Best in Show winners, AWC Top 20 winner, Westminster KC BOB winner, multiple Hit In Trial winner, multiple Specialty point winners, Multiple Specialty Best In Sweeps, 4 generations of All -Breed Hound Group winners, 3 generations of ROM or ROMX producers, multiple Top 10 & 20 competitors in the Breed and Group standings, AWC Certificate of Versatility Award earner, and many AKC and CKC conformation, obedience and field title holders. The majority of these titles and accomplishments have been done by Breeder-Owner-Handlers and/or Owner-Handlers. So, our dogs and their quality speak for themselves. Thank you for visiting our site. Hope you enjoy it!
Our dogs are a family affair - Caroline and Tracy competing for Winners Bitch at the Cascade Hound Show 2010. photo by Christy Marley Tracy bought her first Whippet, Ch. Skeedoodle's Banana Banshee (Ch. Stargazer's Concho Wildcat x Ch. Skeedoodle's Bossa Nova Baby), from Karen Flint in November, 1988. Although Tracy was quite experienced in showing horses, she was a bit of a novice in the dog show ring. She had shown a few of her mother's whippets. However, "Nanny" was quite successful as a puppy and Tracy discovered that she enjoyed the company of other Whippet families and began attending weekend dog shows regularly. When Nanny went Best of Breed and placed in the Hound Group at her very first show at just six months of age, Tracy was hooked on what has become a very engrossing activity. John came into the family not long after and found that he had to go to dog shows if he ever wanted to see Tracy on the weekends. Tracy purchased him a 13" Beagle as a Christmas present and John had his first show dog. "Bo" finished his championship at the tender age of 10 months including wins at the International K.C. shows in Chicago and the AstroHall shows in Houston. Tracy also wanted a new dog at this time and we went back to Karen Flint and purchased Ch. Skeedoodle's Amber Charleston (Ch. Saxon Shore Amber Waves ROMX x Ch. Skeedoodle's Bossa Nova Baby). "Charlie" was another dog who had a very successful show career. He completed his championship at just over one year of age including two 5-point majors. The rest of our history in dogs can be viewed on the various pages of our website.
